土井波音｜NAMINE DOI
1997年石巻市生まれ。
2019年、ロンドンのUniversity of the Arts London Foundation Diploma修了後、石巻に戻り2023年5月まで石巻のキワマリ荘にて「momo」を運営。その後、現代美術・音楽分野を中心に活動を続けている。自らの実体験や幼少期からある超自然的感覚をきっかけに、国内外の⺠話、童話、怪異などをリサーチする。シュルレアリスムの観点からサウンドインスタレーションとして表現することで摂理や既成概念を曖昧にし、現実の拡張を試みる。

ARTIST STATEMENT
土井は、”全てのものが生きているように見える”という感覚を幼少期から抱いてきた。その感覚は生命や物質がもつ有機性、有限性の枠組みを超越し、土井にとっての「生命の存在」という境界を限りなく曖昧にしている。自然と怪異、現実と幻想、内側と外側で区切られるものたち。それらの境界線を探ることは土井の視野を広げ続けることや既成概念を疑うためのツールとなる。
表現手法としてはサウンドインスタレーションを選択することが多い。これは幼少期に始めたクラシックピアノからの影響が大きく、そこにあるはずなのに視覚的に捉えられない音は気配を表現する上で非常に有効な手法である。また19歳の頃から4年間滞在していたロンドンのクラブシーンから多大な影響を受け、音楽と空間やコミュニティの関係性について関心を抱き、以後ソフトウェアやシンセサイザーでの楽曲制作を続けている。 クィアネスや食文化において選択の多様性は定義づけられ細分化されているが、いったいその境界線はどこに引かれるのだろうか。無機物（石、あるいは電柱のように人工物となったもの）に生命は宿っていないのか。人間がそれらとコミュニケーションを取る術をまだ知らないだけで、有機物、無機物問わず全ての存在が生命を宿しているということを想像してみる。
村や国という集団単位での規範・意識が空間性や時間性によって形成されているとするならば、個が全体に回収されないようにその空間性、時間性の枠組みを超えていく必要がある。一つの世界を幾多の生命でシェアしているのではなく、一つの生命には一つの世界があり、無数のリアリティが重層的に存在していると捉えてみる。 これまで土井は、経験や記憶など自身の内側を観察して表現することが多かった。近年は民話、童話、怪異などの外的な要素をリサーチの対象として加えており、それら両側面から超現実的感覚を取り入れた表現を用いることで、摂理や既成概念によって制限された現実の拡張を試みる。証明されたものを受動的に受け入れて、いわゆる"現実"を直視して生きるだけではなく、自身の感覚を通じて信じるものを認知することで、空想が現実を拡張するエッセンスとなることを目指して制作する。

Namine Doi has had a sense that "everything seems to be alive"since childhood. That sense transcends the framework of the organic and finite nature inherent in life and substance, blurring the boundaries of what constitutes "the existence of life.” Nature and Supernatural, Reality and Fantasy, Inside and Outside, such things that are separated by them. Exploring those boundaries can be a tool for broadening Doi’s perspective and questioning established concepts. Doi often chooses sound installations / sonic art as a means of expression. This is heavily influenced by the classical piano that Doi started playing in early childhood. Sounds that cannot be visually perceived but actually exist are a very effective method for expressing a sense of presence.
Furthermore, influenced significantly by the London club scene during the four years Doi stayed there from the age of 19, Doi developed an interest in the relationship between music, space, and community. Since then, I have continued composing music with software and synthesizers. In queerness and food culture, the diversity of choices is defined and subdivided, but where exactly are the boundaries drawn? Doesn’t life dwell in inanimate objects such as stones or things that have become artificial, like utility poles? Doi imagines that all entities, whether organic or inorganic, may harbor life, just because humans have not yet discovered the means to communicate with them. If the norms and consciousness at the collective level of villages or countries are formed by spatiality and temporality, then it is necessary for us to go beyond the framework of that spatiality and temporality so as the individual not to be absorbed by the whole. Instead of sharing one world among many lives, consider that each life has its own world, and countless realities exist in a layered manner.

Recently, Doi has added external elements such as folktales, fairy tales, and the supernatural to the subjects of research. By incorporating a surreal sense from both internal and external aspects, Doi attempts to expand the reality constrained by providence and established concepts. Rather than passively accepting proven things and living by facing the so-called "reality," Doi creates works aimed at the essence of imagination and becomes a means to expand reality by recognizing what they believe through their own senses.
